Well, who knows me knows that I love literature, and one of my favorite literature genres is fantasy.
So I decided to start a series of concepts about some of the characters from my favorite books, just for fun and study.
And I decided to start this sequence using characters from the Tiger’s serie by Colleen Houck. I met this serie last year and became one of my favorite series nowadays.
And, to start, I made the concept of Prince Dhiren (also called Ren) who is my favorite character in the serie.
On the book, he has appears to be 21 years (despite having more than 300 years of existence) and is described as being very beautiful and attractive, with beautiful blue eyes and a lean and strong body. He’s always wearing a white shirt and baggy pants and barefoot when transforms himself from tiger to man. The author does not specify the kind of shirt, though.
I did a little research on Indian clothing and discovered that one of the most common men wears is a long tunic, also called Kurta Pyjama, which can be made in cotton with no detail or silk with beautiful embroidery on collar and cuffs.
I adopted this type of garment and decided to put a few details of embroidery however not very sophisticated.
The object that is in your hand is the Gada, the weapon he receives from the Indian goddess Dhurga. At least that’s how I imagined it while reading.
Anyway, could not be exactly as described in the book but is my vision of him.
And what do you think?
